More Grown Up House

Jack McKinney Architects & Windeatt Architects

Antique-finished limestone meets sleek glass, while a gentle palette amplifies the sense of space. Fossil stone cladding adds depth and tactility.

Overview

Occupying a compact harbour-front site, this residence is defined by a refined limestone palette that anchors the architecture in its landscape. Used extensively throughout the project, the stone provides continuity between interior and exterior spaces while introducing warmth, texture and lasting durability.
As the home steps into the lower level, limestone becomes the dominant material, reinforcing the sense of a solid plinth embedded within the site. Its natural character and enduring performance complement the crisp timber structure above, creating a balanced material palette that is both contemporary and timeless.
